Dubai: A healthcare network in the Philippines has partnered with a Middle Eastern company to open a polyclinic in Dubai and plans to expand its presence across the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

The partnership has been entered into by the Medical City (TMC) and Kuwait’s SAMA Medical Services.

TMC operates five hospitals and 38 satellite clinics across the Philippines, with international presence in the United States territory of Guam and the Middle East, and ongoing projects in Southeast Asia.

The company is currently showcasing its services, as a gold sponsor, at the International Medical Travel Exhibition and Conference (IMTEC) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

TMC’s healthcare network serves over 50,000 in-patients and 1.5 million out-patients every year. It has more than 1,500 medical staff complemented by 5,000-strong medical support human resources.

TMC is accredited by the Joint Commission International, a global accrediting body for healthcare organisations. This provides assurance that TMC’s patient care and services are at par with the best in the world.

Jose Xavier B. Gonzales, CEO of The Medical City for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and treasurer of the board of directors, noted that the region “has a fast-growing need for medical services.”

“And we at The Medical City looks forward to making available our world-class patient care right here in the GCC, starting with Dubai.”
