Abu Dhabi: NMC Health said on Thursday that it has completed acquisition of Americare Group, a provider of in-home health care in Abu Dhabi, as announced on April 29.

The acquisition, which was expected to close in the third quarter, has completed ahead of time, the Abu Dhabi headquartered and the London-listed company said in a statement.

Dr. B.R. Shetty, chief executive officer of NMC, said Americare Group is a market leader in the UAE in-home health care services segment and the business is highly complementary and synergistic with NMC’s existing operations.

“This acquisition exemplifies the continuing execution of our strategy.”

With the majority of Americare’s patients insured by the Thiqa programme, Abu Dhabi’s health care scheme for UAE nationals, the transaction further diversifies NMC’s patient population, NMC Health said.

Americare operates a community-based physician practice providing medical care in the comfort of the patient’s home for a variety of conditions and across all ages with 24-hour nursing care. It also has a medical centre with on-site pharmacy in the Khalidiya residential area of Abu Dhabi, staffed with a group of mainly American Board certified doctors offering several specialities, including general medicine, gynaecology & obstetrics and plastic surgery.
