Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Ports, the operator of ports and industrial zones, announced on Monday that it signed an agreement with Al Mazroui International Cargo Company (MICCO) to establish a new Logistics Business Centre at Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad).

The new centre will cater to MICCO’s temperature-controlled storage facilities, bulk storage, distribution services, and will include a service centre for their trucking fleet.

The first phase of building the centre will see Dh35 million in investment from MICCO, a freight contracting company, with further investments expected based on developments of phase two and three.

The facility, which will require a plot size of 30,000 square metres, is expected to be ready by the fourth quarter of 2016 and fully operational by January 2017.

MICCO said the agreement is set to allow the company to better serve its clients in the emirate and the region.
