Dubai: Dubai Sports City yesterday awarded a Dh192 million contract to Siemens and Electrowatt Ekono Ltd. to supply, install, test and commission three 132/11 kv substations and associated work to serve the 50 million square foot site area.
Siemens will act as the main contractor with Electrowatt acting as the lead engineer.
Khalid Al Zarooni, President of Dubai Sports City said: "Having the ability to distribute electricity independently is, of course, vital to the entire project. These three 132 kv substations will expedite the issue of power distribution to the development. It's a proactive initiative by Sports City that will ensure the project progresses at an even faster pace and handing over to the occupants of the residential and commercial components will be on track and as per plans."
