Dubai: Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, yesterday met Richard Haythornthwaite, chairman of MasterCard’s board of directors, besides other members of the company’s board.
The discussions centred on the latest activities and initiatives by MasterCard, as well as ways to enhance partnership and cooperation between the private and public sectors.
Shaikh Maktoum attended the signing of an agreement between Dubai Innovation Strategy and MasterCard.
The agreement comes as part of an initiative involving Dubai Innovation partners that was launched recently by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
The agreement was signed by Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Executive Office of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Ajay Banga, President and Chief Executive Officer of MasterCard.
Under the agreement, MasterCard will launch creative and unique programmes that promote innovation and support the implementation of innovative solutions and creative ideas.
