Dubai: You’ve been to Vogue Café at The Dubai Mall. Now, you’ll soon be able to dine at Vogue Bar and Lounge.
Inspired Global, the operator and licensee of Conde Nast brands like GQ Bar and Vogue Cafe, is planning to introduce the new Vogue outlet in Dubai by the end of 2015 due to the Vogue brand’s popularity in the UAE and the success of Vogue Café.
“We are having conversations with someone right now for a 2015 opening in a very strong location,” said Seehal Shah, chief executive of Inspired Global in an interview. He did not provide additional details.
The Vogue Bar and Lounge will be “all about fashion”, Shah said, inspired by Vogue Magazine.
Along similar lines is the GQ magazine-inspired GQ Bar at the JW Marriott Marquis on Shaikh Zayed Road, which opened in 2014.
Inspired Global is looking to open a Vogue Café in Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia (Jeddah and Riyadh), although it has not determined when. It is interested in entering Bahrain and Qatar too.
“We see room in the [Abu Dhabi] market for a trendy café. We have been offered a number of mall locations in partnership with certain Abu Dhabi-based businessmen. We went to see Yas Mall and Saadiyat Island,” he said.
Inspired Global aims to be present in all of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries by 2017. The UAE is the only GCC market it operates in at present.
On whether the company is looking to open a Vogue hotel in Dubai, Shah said: “It would be great, but I don’t think we’re ready for that yet.”
