Dubai: Think ‘Calvin Klein’ and images of uber-cool and fashion-savvy pop up. Now, those who have sworn by the brand — and those who would like to — can recreate the same brand associations within their homes.

Interiors, the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group entity, has added the Calvin Klein furniture and home accessories portfolio to their bouquet of upscale brands. And it is sure that brand CK will prove just as perfect a fit on the furnishings side.

“While a good part of our customer base has always gone in for the traditional, there’s a new-generation that’s more in sync with a more contemporary feel to their home interiors,” said Raed Dibs, general manager at Interiors. “This side of our business has been building up slowly over the last five years.”

There are no plans to have stand-alone stores for the CK furnishing line. Instead, it will be showcased through Interiors multi-brand stores in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

“The shop-in-shop concept has served all of the many brands we represent,” Dibs said.

“But we will not have an Interiors within a mall — a high-street location suits us fine. Even the one store we had in a mall, in Ras Al Khaimah, we later decided to close it.”

The retailer has plans for a new location in Dubai, but nothing that is likely to be confirmed short-term, Dibs added.

For CK, the soft furnishing and upholstery collection will be shipped in from California while their line done in wood will be from licensed suppliers in the Far East.
