Dubai: French budget department store Tati opened its second outlet outside of its domestic market in Dubai on Wednesday.

Tati recently opened an outlet at Bahrain City Centre, and aims to open another one at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi in March, said Tati CEO Emmanuel Deroude.

He said that the Middle East could contribute “10-15 per cent” of its revenue in the coming years. The company is investing half a billion dirhams in the next 3-5 years to open 15 outlets in the Gulf.

“Because our prices are affordable, we can set up stores in many cities,” Deroude said.

Tati was established in Paris in 1948, and has 140 stores in France at present. The stores feature men’s, women’s and children’s fashion, household accessories, beauty products and a budget bridal wear department.

The store at Dubai’s Mirdif City Centre, which covers an area of 3,000 square metres, has 10-12 different brands.
