Dubai: The vision of the late Zaha Hadid is getting its place in Dubai’s skyline. The Opus at Business Bay is scheduled for completion in summer, and instantly recognisable by the void at the core of its structure.

Hadid remains one of the most influential urban landscape designers of recent times. “We have the late Dame Zaha Hadid to thank for its truly unique design,” said Mahdi Amjad, Executive Chairman and CEO at Omniyat, the developer.

“The Opus will be aligned with Omniyat’s vision of treating each project as if it were a unique work of art, showcasing once more that we are the pioneers of producing inimitable luxury lifestyle experiences.”

The Opus was the first building Hadid designed for a Dubai client and it will be home to a Melia-branded hotel, the first time it is represented in the region.

Since the launch of operations in 2005, Omniyat’s development portfolio is valued at $6.2 billion (Dh22.7 billion) plus, the bulk of which are in Business Bay and the Downtown. It has also been developing its hospitality interests, drawing in niche European operators.

The Opus is Omniyat’s second major launch of 2017, following on from the apartments at the One Palm. That property will also feature a penthouse with an asking price of Dh180 million plus.
