Construction has started on the ‘Belgrade Waterfront’, the masterplanned community that will take shape along Sava River in Serbia and being built by UAE based Eagle Hills and the Belgrade Waterfront Capital Investment. The development value is projected at $3 billion (Dh11.01 billion).

On a construction area of 2 million square metres, the project will have a total gross site area of approximately 1 million square metres, according to a statement. “Belgrade Waterfront will not only revitalise Belgrade, but it will also help our city take its place as an attractive investment destination and put it on the map as one of the leading regional cities,” said Aleksandar Vucic, Serbian Prime Minister.

The BW Residences, centrally situated on the promenade overlooking the Sava River, will offer a range of one- to four-bedroom apartments and ‘feature a design that draws on the architectural heritage of Belgrade’. Sales began on October 2.

Adjacent to the residences will be the first W hotel in Serbia — W Belgrade and The Residences at W Belgrade.

“This innovative project is the first step in defining our vision for the future and defining Serbia’s path towards progress and development, becoming a modern-day country,” said Vucic.
