Dubai: The Mohammad Bin Rashid (MBR) City is getting a new cluster in the form District Eleven, which will be developed by the Meydan Group.

Located adjacent to Shaikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Al Ain Road, it will have two prime residential areas — 1,500 four-bedroom villas for Emirates airline pilots and another 700 four-bedroom units in the Meydan Villas area. Together, they cover a total ground floor area of 450,000 square metres and 210,000 square metres respectively.

District Eleven will also host Kent College Canterbury–Meydan, brought about through a partnership with the famed UK-based educational institution.

“We are building desirable communities in Dubai which will become integral areas for living and working in the years to come,” Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, Meydan chairman, said.

Meanwhile, construction has started on the rebranded Meydan Avenue, earlier the Diamond Business Park, which sits in the shadows of The Meydan Hotel, Racecourse and Grandstand.

Running adjacent to Al Meydan Road, Meydan Avenue will feature apartment buildings at either end, connected by roads, walkways and landscaped pathways.

Completing the developments at Meydan Avenue will be the new Meydan Headquarters, a 17,500 square metre facility, of which 11,600 square metres will be available as office space on lease.

“It’s an exciting time for us at Meydan as construction is underway on both of these major new projects and will soon be coming to life,” Al Tayer said.
