Dubai: The Al Futtaim Group owned Dubai Festival City has launched Phase Two of an expansion that will create space for retail and F&B outlets overlooking Dubai Creek.

There will be an enlarged Festival Square connecting with the dining locations set on the waterfront. Of Dubai’s existing malls, The Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates too are undergoing major expansion works, while the makeover of Burjuman Centre is nearing its completion phase.

“Responding to the wants and needs of our guests and retailers underpins all that we do,” said Murray Bell, Managing Director, Retail, Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate.

The mall had seen some high-profile retailer entries in the recent past; the Landmark Group unveiled many of its core brands — Centrepoint, Emax and Max — and thus making it among the biggest tenants at the development. Another was the apparel retailer H&M, which has picked up 18,500 square feet on the ground floor of the mall’s North Crescent Walk.

“The opening of H&M’s store is a clear indication of the confidence shown by leading regional and international retailers in our planned expansion,” Bell said. “Launching the second phase is testament to our commitment towards our stakeholders and Dubai’s growth.”
