Abu Dhabi Reem Island developer Tamouh will deliver its City of Lights project comprising 13 buildings including one commercial tower by 2014, a senior company executive told Gulf News.

"We plan to deliver eight buildings on Reem Island in 2013 and five in 2014. The City of Lights project is fully sold to institutional investors," said marketing director Samia Bouazza.

Bouazza also said Wadi Adventure — a man-made water adventure park located at the base of Jebel Hafeet — will be formally opened on Sunday. The park is home to the region's first artificial white water rafting and kayaking attraction.

Mina Plaza, another Tamouh project currently under construction and comprising three residential and one commercial tower, is expected to be completed by the end of next year, Bouazza added.

Marina Square

Tamouh this week announced the handover of more than 3,000 residential units at its Marina Square development on Reem Island.

Marina Square is currently home to around 500 families and features a boutique mall, medical clinics, pedestrian walkways and a five-star hotel, plus a series of yacht berths.

All facilities will be open by 2013 while basic amenities such as a supermarket and bank are due to open in the next couple of months.

"Residents now enjoy the fitness centres, children's playgrounds and pools — all within walking distance to the retail and entertainment quarters," the company said.

Covering 26.7 hectares, Marina Square features 14 buildings (13 residential and one commercial) and 24 townhouses over a built-up area of more than 827,000 square metres.

Tamouh was established in May 2005 with the vision of contributing to the growth of Abu Dhabi.
