Dubai: The Dubai-based developer Limitless’ joint venture in Vietnam will get underway this following approval of a new master plan and accompanying construction drawings.
Limitless received the scale 1/500 approval — a key part of the Vietnamese construction permit process — from authorities in Quang Ninh Province, home of the 200-hectare, $550 million (Dh2 billion) Halong Star project. A construction tender for the residential and tourism project will be released shortly, the company said in a statement.
Limitless’ revised proposal for the project include 340 villas and apartments, a five-star hotel, retail complex and leisure facilities.
Halong Star will offer views of the Unesco World Heritage Site of Halong Bay on Vietnam’s north-east coast. More than 1.2 million people visited the area in 2013, according to official figures.
“Approval of our revised master plan is a major step forward for this project, and we look forward to beginning construction later this year,” said Limitless’ Chairman Ali Rashid Lootah.
“Halong Star … will match the needs of the Halong Bay community, serving existing residents and providing a new and unique destination for the growing number of tourists who visit this beautiful part of the world.”
