Now you can buy property in Hel

Dubai: Now you can buy property in Hel - a Polish town.

On offer is property in a former shooting range and a lush neighbourhood with 15 buildings as part of the International Property Show that ends on Thursday in Dubai. Bidding for a place in Hel will start later this year. Property agent Malgorzata Golinska said non-Polish investors don't need a local partner and will be given 100 per cent ownership of the property. Starting bids for a small plot with two blocks in The Bay of Puck area is about Dh5.4 million.  

"Don't be fooled by the name. Nothing could be farther from hell than Hel itself", the Poland for Visitors guide says. The picturesque town lies in north Poland, with white sandy beaches lapping up the blue Baltic Sea. Some 30,000 people live in Hel. It is green and has freezing winters despite its peculiar name.
