Dubai: Nakheel will start selling townhouses at Warsan Village – a new community in Dubai with nearly 1,200 homes – on Sunday 29 September, the developer has announced.

Warsan Village, set on a 47.5 hectare site on the south-west side of International City, will include an affordable, gated community of 942 townhouses, as well as a recreation centre, mosque and 250 apartments set above a retail plaza with 365 outlets.

The three-bedroom townhomes, starting from Dh1.7 million with a three-year payment plan, each span 2,013 square feet and come with a maid’s room, three bathrooms, powder room, two balconies, private garden and parking for two cars.

Ali Rashid Lootah, Nakheel Chairman, said: “Our townhouses are a natural progression for the area and will bringing a completely new style of living to this already hugely-popular community. We anticipate a very healthy response to the launch of the townhomes – and to the residential and retail leasing opportunities on offer at this unique complex.”

In addition to the 942 townhouses, Nakheel will construct around 250 courtyard apartments – available for lease – within the new community. The three-bedroom units each cover 2,098 square feet and feature their own glass-panelled courtyard, offering space for outdoor dining and entertaining and giving an open feel to the accommodation. The apartments will be built above a two-storey retail plaza with 365 restaurants and shops, also available for lease.

Warsan Village will also have a recreation centre with swimming pool, sports courts and gymnasium; a mosque with car parking; and extensive shaded, green space including a large park with a 1.7km jogging track.

In addition, Nakheel is building an 18,000 sq ft neighbourhood mall, announced earlier this year, next to Warsan Village. The mall will contain a supermarket, convenience stores and a host of cafes and restaurants.

Construction of Warsan Village is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2014 and to be completed in 20 months.
