Karachi: Pakistani stocks ended almost flat in dull trade as investors continued to stay away from the market.

"There is not much happening in the market. Volumes are low, and people are unwilling to take aggressive positions as there is no trigger for them," said Ashraf Zakaria, a dealer at brokers Ali Hussain Rajabali and Co.

The Karachi Stock Exchange's benchmark 100-share index ended 0.04 per cent, or 4.50 points, higher at 10,029.36.

Turnover was 59.68 million shares, compared with 63.41 million shares on Tuesday.

The Pakistani rupee gained further yesterday amid a slowdown in dollar demand from importers, which dealers said was likely to keep the local unit steady in coming days. The rupee ended at 85.98/86.03 to the dollar, up from 86.11/86.16 on Tuesday.
