Property giant drives Dubai index down yet again
Property giant Emaar ended 3.27 per cent down, dragging the index to close nearly 2 per cent lower over negative news about the health of the emirate's economy.
Dubai: Property giant Emaar ended 3.27 per cent down, dragging the index to close nearly 2 per cent lower over negative news about the health of the emirate's economy.
The index ended 1.99 per cent lower at 2,012 points, hovering just above a four-year low that was recorded earlier in the week.
Emirates NBD and Dubai Financial Market ended 2.5 per cent and 7.45 per cent lower respectively.
In Abu Dhabi, Etisalat ended 0.77 per cent lower, with the index closing down 1.64 per cent.
Qatar's main index ended up 0.84 per cent, lifted by Industries Qatar, which rose 1.55 per cent.
Kuwait's Mobile Telecommunications Co (Zain) surged 5.66 per cent.
The index ended 0.73 per cent higher at 8,875 points.
National Bank of Kuwait gained 8.06 per cent.
Oman's main index ended up 3.09 per cent at 6,221 per cent.
