Karachi: Pakistan's Karachi Stock Exchange 100 Index rose 106.59, or 1 per cent, the most in nine days, to 10,677.47, its highest level since August 19, 2008.

National Bank of Pakistan, the biggest in the country by assets, gained 1.4 per cent to Rs76.32, its highest since July 2008. The lender gets most remittances among the nation's banks, The News reported yesterday, citing a statement from National Bank.

Bank officials couldn't immediately be contacted to comment on the report and the statement wasn't on National Bank's Web site.

Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim, Pakistan's only producer of di-ammonium phosphate, a type of fertiliser, is expected to be in the limelight in the next trading session as it is scheduled to report its financial results on April 16.
