Dubai: Dubai’s DFM index closed 0.11 per cent higher at 1580.77 as investors adjust positions ahead of a long weekend.
Among the gainers, Aramex rose 2.82 per cent to close at Dh1.82, followed by Al SalamSudan by 2.10 per cent to Dh1.46 and Dubai Investment by 1.78 per cent to Dh0.744.
Among the losers, Takaful-EM fell 5.80 per cent to Dh0.650, followed by Hits Telecom by 2.55 per cent to Dh0.878 and Deyaar by 2.48 per cent to Dh0.354.
The index hit a 15-week closing high on Monday.
Of the 24 companies traded, 10 rose, 11 declined and three remained unchanged.
About 83.65 million shares worth Dh85.26 million were traded yesterday.
DFM index has surged 16.80 per cent so far this year and rose 2.47 per cent for the month.
Abu Dhabi
The Abu Dhabi Securities market (ADX) index rose 0.67 per cent to close at 2574.16 points.
The shares rose an eighth day in the longest stretch of gains since March after profit growth at the emirate’s companies boosted the outlook for economic growth and before the Eid holiday.
Of the 25 companies traded, 10 rose, seven declined and eight closed unchanged.
About 32.22 million shares worth Dh97.82 million were traded yesterday.
Among the gainers, Oman & Emirates Investment Holding Co rose 7.14 per cent to Dh0.75, followed by Ras Al Khaimah Ceramic by 3.70 per cent to Dh1.13 and Green Crescent Insurance Company by 3.45 per cent to Dh0.30.
Among the losers, Abu Dhabi Aviation lost 3.65 per cent to Dh2.90, followed by Eshraq. by 3.23 per cent to Dh0.30 and Rak Properties by 2.86 per cent to Dh0.35.
ADX index has surged 7.23 per cent so far this year and rose 2.78 per cent for the month.
