Dubai:

The Dubai bourse reversed from its early high to end flat on Monday, a day after the index erased all gains registered in 2014.

The Dubai Financial Market General Index rose as much as 3,478.85 following a rally in crude oil prices, before closing 0.13 per cent higher at 3,325.49. The index shed more than 15 per cent in the previous two sessions.

“We should expect more volatility. We are in a territory that we have not seen in the last five years after a lot of catalyst in the market like MSCI inclusion, and EXPO 2020,” said Sebastien Henin, head of asset management at The National Investor.

Stocks such as Emaar Properties and Arabtec also gave up early gains with the index. Emaar Properties rose as much as 7.8 per cent before ending 2.26 per cent higher at Dh6.8.
