Dubai: The Dubai index fell nearly 2 per cent on Thursday even as crude oil edged higher.

The Dubai Financial Market General Index was down 1.93 per cent to be at 3,664.11.

The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange General index was also down 0.63 per cent at 4,487.49.

Oil edged higher, but still traded near the lowest price in almost six years after government data showed US crude stockpiles increased to the highest level since at least August 1982.
