Dubai: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) index fell 0.07 per cent to close at 1609.63 on Thursday.

Among the gainers, Al Saladan Sudan rose 2.94 per cent to close at Dh1.75, followed by Air Arabia by 2.21 per cent to Dh0.741 and Aman by 2.02 per cent to Dh1.01.

Among the losers, GGICO fell 9.76 per cent to Dh0.342, followed by Shuaa by 3.53 per cent to Dh0.520 and Dubai Investment by 1.18 per cent to Dh0.840.

Of the 26 companies traded, 10 rose, 13 declined and three remained unchanged.

About 67.67 million shares worth Dh81.41 million were traded on Thursday.

Lack of turnover and an absence of catalysts to drive markets higher are dampening the mood on the exchange.

The index hit a low of 1607.76 and a high of 1617.21 during intra trade on Thursday.


Abu Dhabi

Banks and telecommunications shares dragged the Abu Dhabi Securities market (ADX) index down by 0.10 per cent to close at 2674.21 points on Thursday.

Among the gainers, Abu Dhabi Ship Building Co rose 3.96 per cent to Dh1.05, followed by Aldar by 2.38 per cent to Dh1.30 and Green Crescent Insurance Company by 2.33 per cent to Dh0.47.

Among the losers, Abu Dhabi National Co for B and M (Bildco) lost 3.51 per cent to Dh0.55, followed by Ras Al Khaimah Ceramic Co by 2.59 per cent to Dh1.13 and Bank of Sharjah by 2,36 per cent to Dh1.24.

Of the 27 companies traded, 11 rose, 10 declined and six closed unchanged.

About 87.29 million shares worth Dh122.24 million were traded on Thursday.
