Slump fails to deter investors seeking ventures in Abu Dhabi
Despite the international financial crisis more than 150 global investors are seeking opportunities in Abu Dhabi's buoyant economy.
Abu Dhabi: Despite the international financial crisis more than 150 global investors are seeking opportunities in Abu Dhabi's buoyant economy.
Major international corporations in industry, finance and real estate are participating in a one-day investment forum organised by the Department of Planning and Economy (DPE) in London on October 28.
"There seems to be no concern among global investors in relation to the international financial crisis when it comes to Abu Dhabi, as most are keen to invest in the emirate where abundant capital provides a secure environment," said Charles Floyd, the director and head in the Middle East of Institutional Investor.
The emirate's delegation headed by Nasser Ahmad Al Soweidi, DPE's chairman, includes senior executives representing 30 leading corporations, banks, securities market, and real estate developers.
"We seek to provide global investors with a comprehensive picture about the investment opportunities... and the facilities provided to encourage the flow of the foreign direct investments," Mohammad Omar Abdullah, DPE's undersecretary, said.
