Dubai Economic Council meeting discusses foreign investment
Dubai Economic Council recently conducted a high-level meeting on the Regulation of Foreign Investment in the Emirate of Dubai, which advocated global best practices in regulating foreign investments.
Dubai: Dubai Economic Council recently conducted a high-level meeting on the Regulation of Foreign Investment in the Emirate of Dubai, which advocated global best practices in regulating foreign investments.
The meeting was attended by Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign Trade; Shaikh Khalid Bin Zayed Bin Saqr Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Dubai Economic Council, and other members of the council including secretary-general Hani Al Hamili.
Addressing the meeting, Shaikha Lubna said it is a great achievement for the UAE to have been recognised as a prominent global investment destination.
According A.T. Kearney's Foreign Direct Investment Confidence Index (FDICI) the UAE eighth among the most attractive global investment destinations.
"We live in one world that is open to a wealth of opportunities, so there is no escape from opening more channels for foreign investors supported by a foreign investment regulation that is essential for developing and promoting the investment climate in the UAE," said Shaikh Khalid.
