Dubai: Emirates airline confirmed Friday that a warehouse complex at London's Heathrow airport in which it has space caught fire but no casualties were reported.

The complex is operated by UK's Servisair, which owns 22 cargo warehouse facilities across the UK and Ireland in addition to cargo trucking facilities.

"We can confirm that Emirates is the main customer" of the warehouse that is ablaze, Servisair spokesperson Tony Brunskil told Gulf News by phone.

No injuries

"No one is injured and we do not yet know what caused the fire," he said.

Emirates Senior Vice-President Boutros Boutros said he had no clear information about the incident at the time of going to press.

"We've been given to believe that a gas cylinder may be the cause of the fire," he told Gulf News and added that the airline would issue a statement as soon as more information was available.

Estimates of damage caused by the fire were not immediately available.
