Oman to boost growth with infrastructure plans
Development in country to aid Ducab expansion
Muscat : Oman will be a significant growth market amidst landmark infrastructure developments in the country, according to a senior Dubai Cable Company (Ducab) official.
According to a press release issued here yesterday, Ducab is set for expansion that will help the UAE company to offer products unmatched by local manufacturers.
The response at the Interiors & Buildex 2010 exhibition held in Muscat earlier this week has boosted the confidence for Ducab.
"The biggest beneficiary of this year's budget is going to be the infrastructure sector, whether it is for roads, buildings or engineering fields," says Chew Wah Tan, general manager of sales and marketing at Ducab.
"Whatever the project is, new power demands will invariably be part of the solution," he added.
Chew's remarks come at a time when government spending is set to increase by 12 per cent from 2009 to an estimated 7.18 billion Omani riyals (Dh69 billion) in 2010.
