Abu Dhabi: National Projects and Construction (NPC), a leading Abu Dhabi-based construction conglomerate, yesterday moved into its new headquarters in Musaffah.

Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, inaugurated the new premises in the presence Shaikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, senior management representatives of NPC and guests and staff members.

Salem Al Neyadi, Chairman of NPC, said: "NPC has come a long way since its inception in 2003 and over the years has graduated from handling small-scale projects to some of the most iconic projects in Abu Dhabi. The opening of the new headquarters represents an important milestone in the growth and evolution of the company and comes at a time of robust growth for us."

"Over the years, we have built credibility as a company that prides itself in working with the clients, advising them on the best possible course of action, while always keeping their needs and requirements a top priority, followed by respect for budgets and timely delivery," he said.

In 2008 NPC consolidated its position as one of the leading construction companies in Abu Dhabi. As a part of its strategy for growth and expansion, NPC also entered into strategic knowledge and expertise partnerships with a number of international companies. The company also sourced construction equipment for over Dh50 million.

"Our staff has grown from a mere 53 people, when we started in 2003, to a multinational, expertise-driven 5,921-strong workforce. While our new headquarters will address the changing requirements of our ever-growing organisation, it also represents a major step in our strategic expansion plans," added Al Neyadi.

The 40,000-square foot NPC headquarters will help the management streamline operations and processes. The headquarters also has a warehouse facility.

NPC's project portfolio is worth Dh4.5 billion, it having won major construction contracts from prestigious property developers like Hydra Properties, Tamouh, Sourouh, Al Qudra, Reem Investments, Reem Properties, Royal Group and International Capital Trading.

The Rawdhat Abu Dhabi, Marina Square, Danet Abu Dhabi, The Nation Towers and the recently handed-over iconic Danet Holiday Inn Hotel in Abu Dhabi are among the iconic developments in NPC's project portfolio. The company has handed over a total built-up area of 5.5 million square feet and is expected to deliver another 2 million square feet by the end of 2009.
