Mubadala awards Sowwah Square construction contract to Oger Abu Dhabi
Oger Abu Dhabi announced that it has been awarded the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction contract) for the construction of Sowwah Square, Mubadala Development Company's (Mubadala) flagship commercial development on Sowwah Island.
Abu Dhabi: Oger Abu Dhabi announced that it has been awarded the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction contract) for the construction of Sowwah Square, Mubadala Development Company's (Mubadala) flagship commercial development on Sowwah Island.
John Buck International, a joint venture between Mubadala and The John Buck Company, is developing Sowwah Square, located at the heart of Abu Dhabi's new Central Business District.
The EPC contract includes the construction of over 570,000 square metres of office and retail amenities, including the distinctive new headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange building, and the four surrounding Grade "A" high-rise office towers comprising 285,000 square metres of dedicated office space.
Construction for Sowwah Square commenced in the summer of 2007, with a phased completion date starting in 2010.
