Deal to build biggest windpower offshore platform signed on Thursday
Dubai: Drydocks World has announced a deal with a Norwegian company to build a windpower offshore platform that will be the biggest ever built.
The deal was signed with Norwegian energy company Aibel in Dubai on Thursday, and the project, which has an expected delivery date of December 2013, is part of a bigger scheme to build 10 new wind farm clusters near Dollart, Germany, in the North Sea.
Jan Skogseth, president and CEO of of Aibel, said that although many companies had bid for the project, Drydocks was chosen because of Dubai's "established reputation."
