Dubai: Drake & Scull International (DSI) said on Monday it had been awarded a Dh415 million contract for executing the complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) work for the Louvre Museum project in Abu Dhabi.

The contract was awarded by the Arabtec Construction-led joint venture with Constructora San Jose SA and Oger Abu Dhabi LLC that has been appointed by master developer Abu Dhabi Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) to be the main contractor of the project, the company said in a statement.

It added that the scope of work for the contract will be executed in coordination with Habtoor Leighton Specon and includes all incidentals MEP works on the project scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2015.

Located in the Saadiyat Cultural District, Louvre Abu Dhabi is scheduled to be inaugurated in 2015.

DSI’s total project awards year to date reached Dh5.9 billion in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Jordan and India. The company posted net profit of Dh114.9 million for the first half of 2013 ended June 30, with total revenues at Dh2.567 billion. The company said its profit outlook remains positive for MENA (Middle East and North Africa), South Asia and Europe.
