Dubai: Dubai-based trader Danube Building Materials yesterday opened its 34th Buildmart showroom in Bur Dubai. The company has invested more than Dh200 million in its expansion project over the last few years, despite the challenging economic situation that has impacted the construction and property sector badly.

Sami Dhaen Al Qamzi, Director General of the Dubai Economic Department, led the inaugural ceremonies and was joined by Rizwan Sajan, Founder and Chairman of Danube, and other senior officials of the company.

The new B2C standalone showroom is part of the company's continuing efforts to consolidate its presence in the UAE and the rest of the Middle East region.

The new Buildmart showroom is strategically located in the activity laden Computer Street of Bur Dubai and measures 7,500 square feet.

The B2C retail facility is looking to target Dubai's growing number of construction projects while also tapping into the local homeowner market based in the many building apartments and villas in Bur Dubai.

"Over the last few years, Danube has become a strategic partner in the country's move towards driving growth and development," Al Qamzi said.
