Dubai: Dubai Islamic Bank’s new corporate identity was unveiled on Wednesday night by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The unveiling was made during a ceremony held at Dubai World Trade Centre to mark the bank’s 40 year anniversary. Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, was present.

Shaikh Mohammad then signed a gold coin commemorating the bank’s anniversary. The Vice-President said that the bank’s continued success and achievements is thanks to the vision and efforts of Haj Saeed Ahmad Lootah, whose contributions to the bank’s march of excellence will never be forgotten. He added that the bank’s board of directors has continued to take steady and well thought out steps to drive the bank towards more success and achievements, which undoubtedly contributes to the development of the national economy.

During a speech at the ceremony, Mohammad Ebrahim Al Sheibani, Director General of the Dubai Ruler’s Court and Chairman of the bank’s board of directors, said that the development of such a form of banking which was a global phenomenon is a result of the bank’s success in blending values of an Islamic society with technology and innovation. He pointed out that the bank was established as an alternative to traditional banking services that are compliant with Sharia.
