Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) has employed 1,123 Emiratis at senior positions in various sections, it was revealed at the Tawdheef Recruitment Show 2011.

"Out of our current 3,800 employees, 1,123 or 36 per cent are Emiratis. Of those, 25 per cent have been employed at senior managerial positions, including CEO, Deputy CEO, branch managers and section managers," said Sultan Al Mahmoud, Human Resources Director.

According to Al Mahmoud, no other bank has been able to reach this percentage that includes male and female Emirati banking professionals, which surpassed the minimum requirements set by the Tawteen Council established in 2005.

Various incentives

"We are keen to continue maintaining this level of Emiratisation, as it is in line with the Abu Dhabi government's 2030 vision. To achieve this, we are offering various incentives, including international workshops, in which attendees will travel abroad to participate in specialisation initiatives," the HR Director said. "In addition, we are financing further higher education programmes for our Emirati workforce that will provide them with the expertise and skills required to succeed in the sector."

In 2010, ADCB hired 400 Emiratis across the UAE, including 200 UAE national workers in Al Ain, 100 in Fujairah and 100 in Ras Al Khaimah. The bank also absorbed 1,400 employees including many Emiratis from the Royal Bank of Scotland when it was taken over last year.
