Dubai: The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said air traffic movements in the UAE hit a two-year high in November, increasing 6.9 per cent compared to the same month last year.
The GCAA monthly report indicated that total air traffic movements in November 2010 were 56,654, with an average of 1,888 movements per day, which is the highest daily number of air traffic movements in the last two years.
Dubai ranked first with 25,363 air traffic movements. Over flights stood next at 11,938. Abu Dhabi ranked third with 8,293 movements.
Air traffic movements in Sharjah ranked fourth at 5,323 and local flights between UAE airports were in the fifth position with 4,230 movements.
Fujairah witnessed 507 movements, while Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah had 173 and 310 air traffic movements respectively. Al Maktoum International Airport witnessed 133 shipping movements.
