Dubai: Three Gulf carriers have just been named among the best airlines in the world for 2017.
Considered as the “Oscars of the aviation industry,” the Skytrax World Airline Awards declared Qatar Airways as the best carrier, with Emirates Airline snagging the fourth position and Etihad Airways landing the eighth.
The airlines were honoured at a glitzy ceremony at Paris Air Show, a world-renowned aerospace event, on Tuesday.
Emirates also won the award for World’s Best Airline Inflight Entertainment and Best First Class Comfort Amenities, while Etihad took home three other accolades: World’s Best First Class, Best First Class Seat and Best First Class Onboard Catering.
Qatar Airways also received additional awards for the World’s Best Business Class, the World’s Best First Class Lounge and Best Airline in the Middle East.
