Speaking exclusively to Gulf News during his walkabout, Shaikh Mohammad said the show was turning into a truly landmark event.

"Everything has impressed me at this year's show. There are more companies here this year than ever before and more countries than ever, and I think the organisation has been excellent," he said.

As the world's newest, fastest and most luxurious aircraft thundered around in the skies, Shaikh Mohammad said the record-breaking deals announced at the show were "amazing".

The VIP delegation also toured the exhibition hall dropping by a number of major stands housing projects by a range of companies.

At the end of the walkabout, Shaikh Mohammad and his entourage were treated to a special take-off and fly-past of the world's largest passenger jet, the new Airbus A380.
