Emirates flight EK606 is heading back to Dubai after been turned back at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport following a second terror attack in as many days in the Pakistani city.

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (@AirportPakistan) tweeted that the Emirates flight “has now returned to Dubai”. It was due to land at 12:50 Pakistan time.

All flight operations at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi have been suspended, according to the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority Twitter account.

Emirates currently flies four times daily to Pakistan. Etihad Airways, flydubai and Air Arabia each fly once daily.

The airlines have been contacted for comment.

Airlines delayed and cancelled flights between the UAE and Karachi on Sunday and Monday following Sunday night’s attack on Karachi airport. The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

Tuesday’s terrorist attack is on an airport security force base near the airport, according to reports.
