LE BOURGET, France: US-based GE Capital Aviation has ordered 60 A320neo planes in a deal worth $6.37 billion (Dh23.4 billion) according to catalogue prices, European aircraft maker Airbus announced Monday on the first day of the Paris Air Show.

The 60 planes will be equipped with a new generation of the Leap motors built by CFM International, a joint venture of General Electric and Safran, Airbus said.

The A320neo is set to enter into service this year with Pratt & Whitney motors and in 2017 with the Leap version.

GE Capital Aviation’s latest order brings to 465 the number of A320 planes it has ordered from Airbus.
