GCAA ropes in Booz for restructuring
Consulting firm will overhaul top regulator to keep up with challenges and growth of industry
Dubai: The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the UAE's top aviation regulator, Tuesday said it has hired management consultancy firm Booz & Company to transform the organisation.
The programme aims to streamline the GCAA's structure, enhancing the organisation's technical capabilities, strengthening oversight functions and enhancing the GCAA's interface and its collaboration with key stakeholders.
Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the GCAA board, signed the contract with Richard Shediac, partner at Booz & Company, last week in Dubai.
"We are definitely excited by the unprecedented growth the aviation sector across the UAE is seeing; however along with this success comes the challenge to enhance aviation services and increase safety standards," said Saif Mohammad Al Suwaidi, director general of the GCAA.
