Dubai: The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority has increased scrutiny of aircraft and airline operators from Thailand, the federal authority said on Sunday.

The GCCA has increased its inspection of Thai operators and aircraft following an audit on Thailand by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) that resulted in the “issuance or a significant safety concern,” according to an emailed statement.

Last month, China, South Korea and Japan stopped Thailand-based airlines from flying charter flights, according to reports.
