flydubai announces three new routes with flights to Kiev, Kharkov and Donetsk in September 2011
Dubai Flydubai announced its entry into Ukraine with the announcement of flights to Kiev, Donetsk and Kharkov, expanding the low-cost carrier's global network to 40 destinations in the GCC, Asia, Levant, Africa, Europe and the Indian sub-continent.
Flights to the three destinations will start after Eid, allowing travellers from the UAE to take advantage of low-cost fares to a flourishing winter hotspot. Flights to Kiev and Kharkov will begin on September 16 and those to the eastern city of Donetsk will start a day later.
Anton Volov, director of Kiev's Boryspil International Airport, said: "Flydubai is a quality airline offering affordable flights on brand new aircraft and this will be a major benefit for passengers wishing to travel between Kiev and Dubai."
Flydubai CEO Gaith Al Gaith said, "Ukraine is a fascinating country ideal-ly located at the edges of North, South, East and West Europe. The potential to develop the economic relationship between Ukraine and the UAE is huge and I am confident flydubai's three new destinations will have a large stimulant effect on this relationship.
"Boryspil International Airport in Kiev is an impressive modern airport and we have been granted the privilege of flying into the prestigious Terminal F, a terminal usually not offered to low-cost airlines. I would like to extend flydubai's thanks to the authorities in Kiev for giving us this honour."
Flights to Kiev will depart Dubai Terminal 2 at 9am and arrive in Kiev at 1.15pm local time. The return flight will depart Kiev at 2.15pm and land in Dubai at 8.10pm. One-way fares to Kiev from Dubai start at Dh715, and fares from Kiev to Dubai start at Dh750.
Flights to Kharkov will depart Dubai Terminal 2 at 9.10am and arrive in Kharkov at 1.10pm local time. The return flight will depart Kharkov at 2.10pm and land in Dubai at 7.40pm. One-way fares to Kharkov from Dubai start at Dh790, and fares from Kharkov to Dubai are priced from Dh825. Flights to Donetsk will depart Dubai Terminal 2 at 9am and arrive in Donetsk at 12.25pm local time. The return flight will depart at 1.25pm and land in Dubai at 6.35pm.
