Dubai: Etihad Airways reported on Wednesday its best financial performance with a 41 per cent increase in full-year net profit for 2015.

The Abu Dhabi carrier made $103 million (Dh378 million) in the 12 months to December 31, compared to $73 million (Dh267.9 million) a year earlier, according to an emailed statement. Revenues were $9.02 billion (Dh33.1 billion).

“Our profitability clearly demonstrates the success of our business strategy, based on organic growth boosted by our partnerships,” Etihad president and chief executive James Hogan said in the statement.

The airline carried 17.6 million passengers in 2015, up 18.9 per cent compared to the 14.8 million in carried in the previous year.
