Orlando: Emirates airline will spend around $20 million to run TV adverts with US actress Jennifer Aniston later this year, a senior official confirmed to Gulf News on Tuesday.

Speaking in Orlando, Florida, at the launch of Emirates newest route to the United States, Boutros Boutros, Divisional Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications for Emirates Airline & Group, said the $20 million is the cost of running the ad on TV worldwide.

Aniston will not appear in print advertising as previously reported, he added.

Commenting on Aniston’s appointment, Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, also in Orlando, said that “she is good for the brand.”

“We are scheduled to start running it in October,” said Boutros, who added that the choice of Aniston for the ads is part of any particular strategy.

“When we see something fit in with our brand and it’s needed, we do it.

We had a nice script, and she fit into it, it’s written for her. It’s a beautiful ad, I saw the first cut, I love it.”
