Dubai: In line with its aggressive expansion plans and with 193 aircraft on order, Emirates is likely to announce fresh aircraft orders at the Dubai Airshow to be held next November.

"If there are going to be any new orders, we may talk about it during the Dubai Airshow later this year in November," said Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group.

He added that the airline will receive all 193 aircraft currently on order "hopefully by 2020". "

Deliveries

With the current fleet of 148 aircraft, Emirates took delivery of eight new aircraft during the financial year 2010-2011 including one Boeing 777-300ER and seven of the airline's flagship A380s.

The airline is world's largest A380 and Boeing 777 operator with 15 A380s and 86 Boeing 777s.

In 2011-12, the airline plans to take delivery of six additional A380s, 13 Boeing 777-300ERs and two new freighters, according to Shaikh Ahmad.

"We will have a total of 169 aircraft in our fleet in 2012," he said.
