Dubai: Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston will appear in a global digital and television campaign promoting Emirates, the Dubai-based airline confirmed on Sunday.

“We can confirm that we are working with Ms Jennifer Aniston on a global digital and television campaign,” Boutros Boutros, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications, Marketing & Brand, told Gulf News by email.

Details of the advertisement campaign were first reported by the New York Post over the weekend.

The New York Post, citing sources, reported the campaign has already been shot with the deal said to be valued at $5 million for Aniston.

“Jennifer Aniston has shot a high-profile campaign for Emirates as part of this deal, for which she is being paid around $5 million. She will appear across TV and print ads worldwide,” an unnamed source told the News Corporation-owned tabloid.

Emirates declined to comment on the value of the contract.

“We do not wish to discuss contract details, and more information about the campaign will be unveiled in due course,” Boutros said.

The signing of the Hollywood actress, well known for her role as Rachael on hit television sitcom “Friends,” is the latest in a series of new brand awareness campaigns this year by the airline.

Earlier this year, Emirates secured a three-year sponsorship deal to rename the FA Cup, the worlds oldest knockout football, as the “Emirates FA Cup.” That deal was reportedly valued at £30 million. Emirates also branded the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth as part of a another British sponsorship deal this year.

Emirates already sponsors English Premier League football club Arsenal, which includes naming rights of its stadium, Spanish football giants Real Madrid and French football Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, among other sporting teams.

Emirates is also sponsoring the Rugby 2015 World Cup, to be held in England and Wales from next month, with some of its aircraft painted with the tournaments logo.

Aniston will not be the first Hollywood actor to promote an airline from the Gulf this year. In March, Etihad Airways, the UAE’s second largest airline, unveiled Nicole Kidman as its new brand ambassador with the Australian Hollywood actress appearing in a series of advertisement campaigns.
