Dubai: Emirates is marking 10 years since its inaugural flight to Canada in October 2007, with the carrier having carried over 1.2 million passengers to date through the Toronto — Dubai route.

The Dubai-based carrier currently has codeshare partnerships with WestJet and Alaska Airlines to connect travellers to more Canadian cities.

Emirate operates an Airbus A380 on the route, and flies between Toronto and Dubai three times a week — the maximum permitted frequency in the Air Transport Agreement between Canada and the UAE.
