Dubai: Flying out of Dubai on or before Valentine’s Day? Emirates has prepared a treat for travellers to make their journey extra special, and the perks include limited-edition champagne and lip-smacking Belgian chocolates.

Those travelling in business or first class, including members of Emirates Skywards (silver, gold and platinum), will get to enjoy free glasses of Moet & Chandon Rose Imperial at any of the airline’s seven lounges at Dubai International Airport from February 13.

The special beverage will be served alongside sumptuous Valentine’s Day desserts, including a berry treat filled with blueberry yoghurt mousse and mixed berry compote, a white chocolate raspberry delight prepared with white chocolate mousse and raspberry jelly, chocolate truffle with dark chocolate mousse and raspberry jelly and an almond caramelised orange cake.

And on Valentine’s Day itself, all of the airline’s lounges worldwide will be dishing out treats, including heart-shaped red velvet cakes and mud cakes. For the rest of the passengers who don’t have complimentary access to the lounge, they can pay extra for the experience, should they wish to impress the loved ones they’re travelling with.

Also on February 14, any Emirates passenger departing from Dubai will get to enjoy free heart-shaped milk chocolates.

The premium single origin coverture Belgium chocolate will be served alongside the main course for economy and business class flyers exclusively for one day only.

For those who want their Valentine’s Day meal super special, a cake and champagne package is up for grabs and it consists of either a vanilla or chocolate cake and a 200ml bottle of Moët et Chandon Brut NV. Flyers, however, will have to shell out an extra $43 (Dh157) to further sweeten up their dining experience at 35,000 feet.

In first class, the standard goodie baskets will be made extra special and flyers can enjoy a duo of heart-shaped Belgian chocolates and white chocolate coated blackcurrant-infused liquorice balls, aside from the usual treats of snacks and mints.

The treat can be availed of for two days from February 13.

Emirates has previously offered seasonal meals to celebrate special occasions, including Christmas, Diwali and Oktoberfest, among others.
