Dubai: An Emirates flight from the United States, diverted to Iceland earlier on Monday, has landed in Dubai, the airline stated.

"EK232 from Washington DC to Dubai was diverted to Iceland because of a technical issue. Passengers were offered refreshments on the ground in Reykjavik,” an Emirates spokesperson said.

EK232 departed Washington DC on Sunday March 16 at 11:30am, according to the Emirates website, and landed in Iceland at 8:50pm the same day. It departed Iceland four hours later at 1am on March 17 and arrived in Dubai at 12:30midday.

Emirates have not said what the technical issue was that impacted the Boeing 777-300ER, however, has said was resolved prior to resuming the flight.
