Dubai:

Emirates said on Wednesday it is increasing capacity on its Dubai–Munich, Germany, route with the addition of a second A380 aircraft.

Emirates flights EK49/50 and EK51/52 on the Dubai–Munich route are currently served by an Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER, respectively. The second A380 will replace the Boeing aircraft on the route, Emirates said in a statement, adding that the additional A380 will double capacity with nearly 1,800 seats per week added to the route.

Last month, Emirates had a trial run with the A380 after operating the second service with the superjumbo due to high demand.

Emirates has used an A380 on the Dubai–Munich route since November 2011 with more than 600,000 passengers flying on the superjumbo between the two cities. And it was also the first foreign carrier to operate scheduled A380 services into Germany.

Emirates flight EK51 departs Dubai at 16:30hrs and arrives in Munich at 20:10hrs, the return flight EK52 departs Munich at 21:40hrs and arrives in Dubai at 06:30hrs the following day.

Emirates stated that the second daily A380 flight will be serviced with a three-class configuration with 14 First Class seats, 76 in Business Class, and 399 in Economy.
